I know how designers feel when they have to start a project. They have a good idea- I have one I have been thinking about. They usually have a deadline- I have to have a body of work to show Nancy Crow on April 28. They often face a blank computer screen and think of all the things they could be doing instead.
I did just that today. So many ways to avoid going into my sewing room. Food shopping. Endless mounds of laundry. Going over taxes with Bob Len. Answering 246 emails when I was gone. Folding clothes in Max's room. All designed to keep me from my inevitable blank canvas.
"It's so fine and yet so terrible to stand in front of a blank canvas."
- Paul Cezanne
"White. A blank page or canvas. So many possibilities...."
- Stephen Sondheim
Tomorrow I have to attack it.
