I have been sketching ideas for a new piece and started something last night. But the most exciting part has been the research. I have always been fond of art from the Dada era perhaps because many of the artists were superb masters of typography and that taps into my love of letters. I have also liked the collages of that era- especially the work of Kurt Schwitters and Lazlo Moholy-Nagy. I took my entire staff to the National Gallery about 3 years ago just to view one of the most amazing exhibits of Dadaist art amassed. I actually went to see the exhibit 3 times- and even that was not enough.
So in the last few days I have been looking at the compositions of these masters not only as a lover of type- but also with a quilter's eye to composition.

What fun this research has been. Now to the studio.
