Un-multi-tasking

back

Its been quite a while since I have posted- although I have been busy at work quilting up a couple of pieces. I have had such a strange reaction after getting into Quilt National and getting back from Nancy's. I have worked hard- but I also have been incapable of unpacking the quilt I entered into the show. It is almost as if I am not sure if it is any good, and by not seeing it, I will not have to think about it.

I have realized just how hard working on larger quilts are- for one thing they take a much longer time to complete. And physically it is much harder. I thought that if I just had a large design wall I would be set- and now I realize I need larger table space, a larger cutting area and a stronger set of muscles. I am not going to let that deter me- but I also realize that my production is going to go way down.

I quite like the piece I am working on now- a combination of heavy hand quilting and machine quilting- very dense an very time consuming. But now, sittin here in the snow at the farmhouse I realize i have 5 whole days ahead of me to quilt- with no excuses. Life is good. I am also going to try to get back in the habit of writing more- it is good for me psychologically.
