Un-multi-tasking

Hole

Sometimes I work on a piece of art- and it all fits together beautifully. All the pieces align- all the pieces are harmonious.
Sometimes I stare at my art , realize something is not working, and try to just hope that if I don't examine it too closely, ignore some of the problems, it will all work itself out.
And sometimes, I look at it, and know I am going to have to cut out a central piece of fabric- a beautiful unique irreplaceable piece. And it means cutting directly into the art, into the heart and soul of a piece, and gently removing the shape and hoping that I can put the other pieces back together in a better configuration.
And I find that no matter how hard I try to mend it, the hole is still there. Today was such a day.
